As many of you know, I am confined to a wheelchair because of a birth defect, Spina Bifida. This means that a lot of the world which is not wheelchair accessible is not accessible to me. But, just this afternoon I have been to New Zealand. And it only cost me $12 from Netflix!
They have a program called Departures about two guys who throw away their jobs and homes for a year to travel the world. China, Japan, New Zealand, I have been to them all with an ambient techno soundtrack without leaving my living room. Maybe I am odd, but I find it fascinating. These places that I definitely will never see in person I get to witness through someone else’s adventures.
I have also come to the conclusion that New Zealand looks an awful lot like The Pacific Northwest of The United States. It’s a big world, but we all have more in common than we realize. And my hope is we will take the time to talk about those commonalities and put aside our differences one day.
I look forward to your fresh and positive outlook 😊 You don’t send out soul weary vibes. Well done.
