It is finally here. The end of another year. 2015 is being left behind and we are entering 2016. Along with that move millions of people all over the world are making New Year’s Resolutions.
We all mean well when we make these resolutions. This will be the year I eat better. This will be the year I exercise more. This will be the year I quit smoking. This will be the year I will try harder at work. This will be the year I will… The possibilities are endless and so is the failure with this statement.
Yoda said it best when he said, “Do, or do not. There is no try.” When we make a New Years resolution all we are doing is saying we will try. Don’t try, just do. You want to exercise more, contract your muscles while watching television or playing a board game with your family. That’s exercise!! Laugh! That’s exercise.
We need to quit setting ourselves up to fail by setting resolutions that will drop off in two weeks! We need to just do! Be you! You are a human being and a human doing! But, what are you doing? Is it positive? Will it have a positive impact on anyone in the world? Will it have a negative impact? These are serious questions we need to answer before any New Years plan gets put into action! And into action it must! Do, or do not! There is no try! Thank you, Yoda!
