With the election process still going on here in America I have had a lot of time to think. There are those who say Trump is the answer. There are those who say Clinton is the answer. And there is a third demographic who says neither is the answer.
I still don’t know who in those categories is correct, but God has really been taking my spirit through the refiner’s fire. I have friends on all sides of the issue. Some love Trump. Some love Hillary. Some love none of them. I talked to a friend last night and he voted for McMullin, after our conversation a couple weeks ago, I am not surprised. At that time I said I was leaning toward him too. Then I switched. I won’t say who I voted for, but I prayed for my vote before I cast it, so I believe it was the one God chose.
But this election has caused so many fires!! And I fear that 99.9% of the fires it has caused are not a refiners fire. You see, a refiners fire takes out impurities, but if you look at our country, there is a slew of division and hate going on– over a vote! Our opinions have polarized us all so badly. I wonder if a refiners fire can be used throughout the country to burn away the impurities that we have now. Is that possible? Or have we gone too far polarized away from one another?
I know I have changed because of this election. Causing hate, violence, destruction and fear is not the right cause, my friends. It’s not the right reaction either. We need to seek His ways so we can come back together as one nation under God, indivisible. And there should be liberty and justice for all.
