I have been seeing a lot of posts today about Relax. I believe this is a photography prompt, although, I am no photographer. But, I still have a take on the word.
Breathe. I work for Walmart and I find myself saying that quite often to a variety of our associates. A lot of built up energy is held within people I run into, or work along side, at Walmart. I don’t know if it is the same in other Walmart environments, but it is thick in this one. Especially this time of year.
We put so much emphasis on presents, gifts, money, purchases, games, toys, etc. this time of year. Why can’t we just learn to relax. I am even going to step out on a limb here and encorporate any readers who may not be believers in the Christian faith. Christmas for ALL PEOPLE no matter our background or social status, or religious beliefs or lack thereof, has no bearing on our need to relate. We are human creatures who need relationships. We need to be together. And yet, we spend so much time pointing out things that drive us apart.
Relax. Breathe. Feel the peace of being with loved ones this season. And if you see, or know of, someone who is alone this holiday season for whatever reason, invite them to time with you or your family.
Everyone deserves to relax. My wife helps me think things through and relax almost every day. I know God brought us together for that reason. I am highly anxious most of the time. My wife always tells me ‘Slow down, breathe, relax. There is an answer here.’ Then she will either tell me the solution, or if we don’t see one, we will find it together. There is peace in numbers. There is peace in knowing we are not alone.
Peace will bring relaxation and that is good for all the world.
