I just completed the series 13 Reasons Why. It tackles the incredibly difficult discussions of why do teens commit suicide. And in this particular series it all starts with a photo.
Hannah Baker has a photo of her kissing a boy. Then, another photo comes up of her kissing a girl. It steam rolls into her being called slut, and ultimately, her reputation becomes completely undesirable for her and she goes through so much. She ends up with PTSD because she feels so all alone.
And it all started with a photo. They say a photo is worth a thousand words. In today’s world of social networking and so many abilities to share images and stories around the world we need to make sure, we NEED TO ABSOLUTELY BE 100% POSITIVE THAT THE STORY WE HEAR IS THE CORRECT ONE!! Being a teen-ager is tough enough without false stories starting.
And I want everyone in the world to know, I am here. God has placed (what I consider) the most colorful people in my life. I have been the go-to guy for literally hundreds of people. There is not a story I have not heard. I am serious! You CANNOT SHOCK ME TO STOP LOVING YOU WITH ALL THAT I AM!!
No matter your story, there is always a way to continue it. Don’t ever let the bad photos stop you from taking snap shots of your life. A picture is worth a thousand words, but your life is worth infinitely much more.
