I have no idea why I can’t get this thought out of my head today. Today’s Daily Post Word is Sail, or is it, Sailing. In either case, the thought I can’t get out of my head is a few of the disciples of Jesus were fishermen. Jesus said He would make them fishers of men.
When did we lose sight of that? We need to be concerned with people’s souls. Eternity hangs in the balance if we don’t get this absolutely right! We can’t just go sailing through life like, oh, go ahead! Do what you like! It’s okay. No one gets hurt in the end. NO! Jesus said, ‘I am the way, the truth and the life. No one gets to the father but by me.’ How are we not understanding this and taking it seriously?!
Fishermen. Sailors. Followed Jesus and took Him seriously. Yes, a couple denied Him at the cross, but they all knew what it was for three days later. ALL OF THEM. There can’t be any sailing through this. You can’t skate to Heaven. It’s time to get serious.
And I want to reiterate, Jesus does not care what you have done! No sin is so bad that He cannot forgive. He knows your heart. If it is truly for Him, it is a done deal. We cannot do anything to afford a spot in Heaven. Nothing. When He said, ‘It is finished!’ He meant IT IS FINISHED! He did it. Not us. Accept the gift and live with and for Him today and forever. Amen.
