Pluckers!

People who pluck flowers have no notion of true beauty. Once you pluck a flower from its stem, it dies. Sure, it may take a few days, or maybe even a week or two if you place it in water. But, ripped from its source of energy, it begins to die the moment that occurs.

Photos. Photos last a long time! And they can be shared with others. When you see a beautiful flower in the wild, take a clear photo of it and leave it for others to walk by and enjoy.

The same is true of people. We each carry a paper heart around our neck. Each time you get after someone, or demean them, make them feel like they are not good enough, or they can’t do what they set out to do, you pluck a piece of their heart. The heart is like that flower in a field. When it is plucked from its life source it cannot be returned, ever. And it begins to die. Piece by piece when you demolish a person their heart, their passion, their very reason God may have placed them on this Earth, begins to die.

Admire their beauty. Admire what they are setting out to do if it is a positive action for this world. Don’t pluck their dreams and goals just because you don’t think it can be done, or you think it should be done another way. Stand back and offer encouragement to those who are trying to do something great.

Plucking, no matter what it is, always causes death. If you take away one thing from this post, let that be it. Plucking will always cause a death. Death of a flower. Death of a dream. Death of a soul. And sadly, maybe even death of a human being who could have done some amazing things with encouragement.
